Age Group: 2 years old (turning three by December 31st)
One of our unique programs at the Training Station is our Older First Steps class. This class has been designed especially for children that are two years old but are turning three by December 31st! Over the years we have discovered that children who are almost three years old are ready for a different type of program than are those who have recently turned two. So we created our Older First Steps class to meet the needs of this specific age group.
This class gives two year old children a nice introduction into the preschool adventure. We are able to focus on the needs and developmental levels specific to children on the verge of being three years old. Similar to our First Steps classes our Older First Steps children will have experiences that encourage development of social skills. Children will also participate in structured activities that enable them to engage in the group life of the class. We offer a well balanced mix of individual and group activities designed to meet the needs of a variety of learning styles.
Our First Steps program is largely a socialization experience which is coupled with structured learning activities. Our program stresses the development of sharing and social skills while playing with others and learning to participate as part of a group. A well balanced mix of individual and group activities is provided with respect to individual learning styles.
